Our Story

World-class credentials. Family-sized care.

A specialist orthodontist who trained across four countries, an orthodontic therapist with over a decade of clinical experience, and a deliberate choice to stay small.

The practice

Built by choice, not by budget.

Stewart trained at King’s College London, worked across four countries, and spent a decade as Albany’s only orthodontist — serving the entire Great Southern region of Western Australia. When it came time to open his own practice, he chose Claremont. And he chose to keep it small.

Claremont Orthodontics is a family practice — Stewart and Kylie, two clinicians who have worked together for years. No rotating associates. No franchise model. No corporate owner. Just a specialist who personally sees every patient, from first consultation through to completion.

What we believe

Three things that define us.

01

Continuity

You see the same specialist at every appointment. In an 18-month treatment, that matters. No rotating clinicians, no handoffs, no repeating your history.

02

Honesty

Every option explained — including the ones we don’t offer. If braces will give you a better result than aligners, we’ll say so. No upselling, no pressure.

03

Specialist care

Three years of full-time postgraduate training after dental school, focused exclusively on orthodontics. For complex cases, specialist training translates directly into treatment quality.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

A dentist provides general dental care. An orthodontist is a dentist who has completed an additional three years of full-time specialist postgraduate training focused exclusively on tooth movement and jaw alignment. Dr Denize holds a Master of Science in Orthodontics from King's College London and is registered as a specialist with AHPRA.

Yes. Claremont Orthodontics treats patients of all ages — from children as young as 7 for early assessment, through to adults seeking orthodontic treatment for the first time or addressing relapse from earlier treatment.

No. Claremont Orthodontics is a family-owned and operated practice. Dr Stewart Denize and Dr Kylie Lewis are the only two clinicians — there are no rotating associates, no franchise model, and no corporate ownership. Every patient is personally seen by the same specialist throughout their treatment at our Stirling Highway, Claremont practice.

Dr Denize spent a decade as Albany's only orthodontist before opening Claremont Orthodontics on Stirling Highway. He brought Dr Kylie Lewis — his longtime colleague from Albany Orthodontics — with him. The practice was established to offer Perth's western suburbs the same level of specialist, continuity-of-care orthodontics the regional community had come to rely on.

Yes. While many of our patients live in Claremont, Cottesloe, Swanbourne, Nedlands, and Dalkeith, we welcome patients from across Perth. Families drive from the northern suburbs, the south, and further afield for specialist-led care. If you are travelling a distance, we are happy to schedule appointments to minimise your trips.

We use 3D digital scanning to plan clear aligner treatment and provide detailed records for complex cases — removing the need for traditional impressions in many situations. Digital treatment planning allows Dr Denize to map tooth movements precisely before treatment begins. We invest in technology that directly improves clinical outcomes, not technology for its own sake.

Yes. Dr Stewart Denize is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with AHPRA — the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. You can verify his registration directly on the AHPRA website. His specialist registration reflects three years of full-time postgraduate orthodontic training completed after his dental degree.

Our standard hours are Monday to Friday. We understand that working adults and school-aged patients have scheduling constraints, and we do our best to accommodate early morning and late afternoon appointments where possible. Please contact our Claremont practice directly to discuss what appointment times are available for your situation.
