If you are coming from Cottesloe or Mosman Park, travel east along Stirling Highway and we are on the right.

Parking is available on Stirling Highway (metered) and on surrounding streets. Claremont Quarter’s car park is also a short walk away for longer appointments.

By train

Claremont Station is on the Fremantle line and is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the practice. Cross Stirling Highway and head east along the highway to reach us.

By bus

Multiple bus routes service Stirling Highway, with stops close to the practice. The 102 and 103 routes run along Stirling Highway and connect the western suburbs to the CBD.

Who we see

Children and adolescents

The majority of children do not need orthodontic intervention before their permanent teeth come through. But some do — and identifying those cases early can make a meaningful difference to the complexity of treatment later.

We see children from around age seven for an initial assessment. At this age, we are not necessarily starting treatment — we are looking at facial development, identifying any issues that would benefit from early intervention, and establishing a monitoring schedule if needed. For most children, we will tell parents to keep watching and come back at a specified time when more permanent teeth have emerged.

Adults

Metal braces

The most established orthodontic appliance, and still the most efficient for complex tooth movements. Modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than they were twenty years ago. For many patients — particularly adolescents — metal braces remain the most cost-effective option that produces the most predictable result.

Ceramic braces

Ceramic brackets are tooth-coloured, making them substantially less visible than metal. The mechanics are the same — a wire threaded through the brackets applies continuous gentle force to move teeth. Ceramic braces are popular with adult patients who want the reliability of fixed appliances without the visual impact of metal.

We use high-quality ceramic brackets that resist staining and maintain their appearance throughout treatment.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners are removable plastic trays that move teeth incrementally. They are nearly invisible in daily wear and are removed for eating and cleaning, which patients often find convenient. They work well for a wide range of cases, though not all cases — complex bite corrections and certain tooth movements are still managed more reliably with fixed appliances.

We are thorough in assessing whether aligners are genuinely the right choice for a patient’s case, rather than recommending them because they are popular. Some patients come to us having been told they are “aligner candidates” elsewhere, only to find on specialist assessment that their case would be better served by fixed appliances. We will always tell you what we genuinely believe is in your clinical interest.

Retainers and retention

Retention is the phase of orthodontic treatment that follows active treatment — the braces coming off, or the final aligner tray. Teeth have a lifelong tendency to drift, and retainers hold the result in place.

We provide fixed retainers (thin wires bonded to the back of the teeth, invisible from outside) and removable retainers (clear trays worn at night). We are explicit with every patient about what retention involves and why it matters. A result that is not retained will change over time. This is not negotiable.
